Everyone has a skill, experience, or passion they can share, and you can get a lot out of volunteering with 1st Ripley
We have a number of opportunities at 1st Ripley for parents, ex-members, and members of the public to help the group grow. Below are a sample of some of the opportunities currently available.
Scouting wouldn’t be able to succeed without the fantastic team of volunteers, but there is always room for more and help and we would love it if you would get in contact using the contact form.
You don’t need any specialist skills, we provide all the training you need completely free of charge, and provide support whenever you want it through your own mentor, as well as the other leaders, supporters and parents that help provide Scouting.
Someone to plan and deliver a programme of activities to the Scouts section on a weekly basis. Find out more about the role of a Scout Leader here.
Helping to maintain the group’s equipment through maintaining the tent room, and checking each tent has the right number of pegs and poles.
Executive Member and Trustee
As a secretary you will be responsible for assisting the Group Chair with setting the agenda for the Executive committee, taking the minutes, and sending the occasional letter and email. The executive committee meets every other month in January, March, May, July, September, and November.
Assistant Cub Leader
Leader for Falcon Pack
An assistant cub leader will help the Cub leader with the planning and delivery of a high quality programme for Falcon Pack. This could be coming up with activity ideas, arranging trips, running games and activities.
Assistant Scout Leader
The role of the assistant Scout leader is to help the Scout leader plan and deliver games and activities to the Scout section of 10-14 year olds.
